Showa Aesthetic is a school project that I designed in Spring 2023.
For this project, I picked a topic I am interested in: Showa Era and its culture. (aesthetic)
During the design process, I made tons of images. I used several image-making methods like Photographic, Traditional/Analogue, Digital, Layers, Text&Type...to make my own image.

~ Showa Aesthetic
The topic of this project is Showa Era and its aesthetic.
Showa Era(1926-1989) is often described as a significant breakpoint in Japan's history. During the Showa period, the economy exhibited a miracle of take-off, the social atmosphere was prosperous and full of vitality, and people could pursue their dreams without hesitation. The unprecedented development of culture also had a great influence on the aesthetics of Asia. A lot of people are missing that era, and the Showa Era aesthetics is extremely attractive to me. I will design a postage stamp sheet and wallpaper for this project; my audience is tourists and art enthusiasts. I hope my design can inspire people and leave an impression. The location I chose for the wallpaper is the airport; I want my design can capture the tourist’s eye. And the postage stamp is a good choice for souvenirs.
