City-pop Player is a school project that I designed in Spring 2023.

City-pop is a niche genre of music. Many people who like city-pop need to use a different music player to listen to city-pop music. I hope this player can become a player exclusively for city-pop fans.

~ City-pop Player

City-pop, it refers to pop songs with a "big-city feel", which became popular in Japan in the mid-1970s and into the 1980s. With the development of the times, there are many good songs and singers have been forgotten.  City-pop is a genre of music that I like very much, and I would like to create a player that only plays city-pop music. 

The target audience of this player is fans of city-pop. This player not only plays city-pop music, but also introduces the history of city-pop, the background and creative process of city-pop musicians. It also introduces artists who have used city-pop as inspiration for their work. It is equivalent to a small encyclopedia to provide a better experience for the fans of city-pop to use.

Design Process:
I first investigated the popular players on the market to see their user interfaces and how they are used. I didn't want my player to be difficult for users to use, so my user interface is more similar to these players. On top of that, I designed some features that are different from those players.  
For the fonts, I chose two retro-style fonts with an electronic feel at the same time.  For the colors, I chose a combination of highly saturated and low saturated colors.

Thoughts:
I really learned something from this project. From the beginning, I need to do a lots of research. For example, an interview needs to be done about a potential user. Thinking about the user story, and the basic wireframe. And the design process is also fun.  You need to think about how to provide a better user interface and experience for your users.
